Short links

A short link is an ogmake.com/s/… address for a public page. Paste it into a message, a post or an email and it previews as the page's card, built the same way as auto mode. You do not touch the destination page at all, so it works for pages you do not own.

Create a link

Send the destination to POST /v1/links with your API key.

The response names the short URL and the card it will show:

What people see

Everyone gets the same page: the card's title, description and image in the preview, the destination host, and a clear Open the original on host → link. The visitor is sent on to the original right away; the link is there for anyone whose browser stays on the page. Add a plus sign to a short link (ogmake.com/s/k3x9QaP7mZ2cWb81R+) for its info page, which shows where it goes and how to report it.

Plans and limits

Short links are included on paid plans, with a per-plan monthly limit on how many you create. Opening a link is free. The destination must be a public web page (http destinations are upgraded to https); pages that return 404 or 410, private addresses, ogmake itself, other link shorteners and blocked hosts are refused. Takedown and abuse

Anyone can report a short link from its info page. Links to phishing, malware or other abuse are taken down, and a blocked host stops serving every short link to it within a minute. Creating a link for a host that is blocked fails.
